Hi I'm Heather

I am a mom, adventurer, runner, baker and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of a beautiful sweet little girl who amazes me everyday. I am currently not married but dating my knight in shining armour. I enjoy running, biking, hiking...pretty much anything outdoors. I also love to bake and eat; which is another good reason to stay active. ;) My parents were divorced when I was very young and fell away from the church so I didn't have much of influence of the church at home or in my immediate family. Through influence of extended family members I was baptised and loved going to church with my little brothers. Through Jr High and High school I became very insecure and didn't know what or who to be. I soon fell away from the church. 15 years later; after many wrong turns and choices I realize that I am not where I want/need to be; I was missing something very important in my life. I was missing that peace and joy the gospel brings. I started going back to church and it felt like home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I have a testimony of the pure joy and feeling of love that comes from living the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love what the gospel has taught me about where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. We are not perfect and we all make mistakes but I know through The Atonement of Jesus Christ we are able to repent and return to our Father in Heaven. Of this I am so greatful and I have definitly needed it in my life. The gospel blesses my life and teaches me how to be more like my Savior. And most importantly, I know what kind of person God, my loving heavenly father, wants me to be. "Healing comes when we choose to walk away from darkness and move towards a brighter light." -Dieter F Uchtdorf

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each Sunday to worship Heavenly Father, expand my knowlegde and testimony. I go to show my love and dedication to living the way He would have me live. I strive to be an example to not only my daughter but to all I come in contact with. I wish to share this joy and unconditional love that is felt through the gospel. I am currently serving as the secretary of the Relief Society (a woman's organization within the church). This has been a great blessing to be able to get to know all the wonderful sisters in the ward. I have also taught 4 year olds in sunday school; and that was so much fun. Children have so much love and happiness; I was there to teach them but I learned so much more from them.
