Hi I'm Jocelyn

I grew up in Wyoming. I studied Art History at the University of Utah. I'm married and have a three year old son.

About Me

I have a great family. I married my husband in college and we have a three year old son. I go to art museums any chance I can get, which proves to be difficult to do too often with a three year old. I love watching football and reading good books.

Why I am a Mormon

I knew for certain that the LDS church was the true church when I was in high school. A car I was riding in was hit by a drunk driver when I was 17 and those who witnessed the accident were certain we were killed. However, we all walked away from the accident, unharmed. I knew that I had been spared and that Heavenly Father had a plan for me. I felt loved and protected and knew in the days following the accident that my Father in Heaven was watching over me. In every aspect of my life, he gives me strength to persevere and to continue on the path of righteous living. I know that Jesus Christ sacrificed for our sins so that we can become perfect and return to live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by maintaining a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I feel a sense of calm and capability when I read the scriptures and pray often. I go to church regularly and try to keep the commandments in every aspect of my life.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

I like to think of my temporal body as being on loan to me. Heavenly Father has given me the chance to come here to earth, to be tested and tried and treating my body with the respect and dignity it deserves is a part of his plan for me. That includes, not defiling it with what I put upon it (tattoos, excessive piercings, etc.) and what I put in it (harmful substances, and unhealthy food and drink). Part of God's plan was to be tempted to test our obedience and capacity to keep His commandments; those temptations include being tempted to knowingly harm our bodies. I can show my love and respect for my Father in Heaven through my obedience to his commandment to treat my body with reverence. Show more Show less
