Hi I'm Blake

I grew up in southern Utah and now live in Minnesota. I'm a doctor, a father of 3 (going on 4), and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After finishing medical school, I'm now training to be a radiologist. I love spending time with my kids, which means chasing them around, playing soccer, launching model rockets, or helping out with Boy Scouts.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church are true. Having been trained in a very scientific field, I believe that Christ has organized his Church in a methodical way with a purpose. We are not left here on our own to try to figure out the truth. Instead, He guides us by answering our personal prayers and has continued His method of leading us through prophets on the earth, just as He did in days of old. He has delegated His authority so we may know whom to trust. I have prayed about these things, and through the clear and warm impressions in my heart, I have come to know that this is how He leads His church.

How I live my faith

As a family, we read scriptures and pray together daily. We also hold a weekly "family night" on Monday evenings where we address any family problems such as if anyone is struggling with something in school or with friends. We plan our week out, have a fun, but spiritual lesson, and always finish off with dessert. Family dinner together every night is also a priority. These are the ways we grow stronger as a family, are able to share our love, and help our kids know how we love them. Our faith is not something we force on our kids, but they feel of our love for Christ by our frequent and close interactions and by the way we show them His influence on us.
