Hi I'm Mandisah

I sing Les Miserables when I do dishes. I live off grid. I'm a wife and mommy-to-be. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the color pink and the color brown. I like furry boots and high heels. I like reading and writing, especially true stories. I love mother earth, and running outside in bare feet. I like hearing peoples stories, and getting to know who they really are. I love piano music and rainstorms. I like being creative with my clothes and outfits, I always loved playing dress-up when I was a little girl. I live off grid, in the Green Mountains with my Best Friend, my Husband. We get our power from a generator and a battery system, our heat from a wood stove, and we save hundreds of gallons of water with our Green water system. My husband is the love of my life, and my childhood sweetheart. We were married in the LDS Boston Temple for time and all eternity. We are expecting our first baby, and are so excited to have a family. I love the Savior, and I am grateful for everything he has done for us. The Lord and His Son, and the gospel have been and are, a central part of my life, and all I am and do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, and so it has always been a part of my life, for which I am so grateful. I grew up seeing the good things that came from my parent's Temple marriage, and the service that they and many others gave to the Lord, and to others, and I wanted that in my life. However, I am not a member just because I was raised with it. I am a member of the LDS church, because I have felt a powerful witness that it is God's church on the earth, now! I am a member because the truths that are taught, that are a part of this church, resonate deep inside of my soul. I am a member because I have seen and felt the goodness that comes from the Church as a whole, and from members who live Christ's gospel every day in their lives. I want to be a part of that. I am a member because I have felt the love of the Savior in my life, and I want to be like Him. Being a member of His church brings me nearer to Him.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example of the way our Heavenly Father wants us to live, and try to follow in Christ's footsteps. The Savior showed perfect love to all his brothers and sisters (us), and that is something that I try very hard to emulate. Each one of us has faults, and every one of us needs the Atonement, and I think unconditional loving is one of the most important things for us to learn while here on earth. We are taught to be honest in all things, and I believe that returning an extra dollar in change, is just as important as returning an extra hundred dollars, that is the little things just as much as the big things. We are taught to keep our bodies healthy, and for me that is more than just a list of foods and substances to not put in our bodies, but that we should eat the healthiest foods, and exercise and get enough sleep and so on. We are taught that the family is central to God's plan for us on the earth. My family is the most important part of my life, other than the gospel, and I love being with them. I also serve in my ward, as a Primary Chorister (for kids age 3-11), and on a Relief Society Activity Committee (for the women), and I am also Assistant Cub Master.
