Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a dreamer. I'm a thinker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like creating, improving, and problem-solving. I am a graduate from Brigham Young University. I am interested in the medical field--psychiatry. I know many people who experience the pain of mental illness or trauma. I'd like to be among those who find more effective methods of treatment. There was a time in my life where I didn't feel valued. As a result, I seek out opportunities to help others feel valued. Whoever is reading this, you matter!! I am giving you a big hug right now. (however, I won't be offended if you decline my hug ;-) ) I believe the most important thing we can do in our lives is learn how to love. As Jesus Christ does. Perfect love. Pure love. Takes practice. More than a life time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it!! And more specifically, I have felt by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. What a glorious book! I have asked God in prayer to know if it is true, and through feelings of peace and reverence, I have received an answer. I continue to feel it is true, every time I read it. I love that book. I promise if you will read it, ponder its words, and ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if it is true, He will let you know. If you ask with a sincere heart and with real intent, He will let you know, just as He has let me know. He loves us!! I am a Mormon because I believe in Living Prophets! God speaks to us! Now! Today!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to pray and read the scriptures every day. I live my faith by inviting others to learn about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. To add upon the faith and values they already have. What I know brings me joy--how can I not share? I feel it is not only a joy to share what I believe with others (regardless of the outcome), but also a solemn obligation. I have promised God I would. I live my faith by making and keeping covenants (promises) I have made with God. For example, when I was baptized I promised God that I would comfort those in need of comfort and help bear the burdens of others (and allow others to help support me in my challenges). I am now preparing to make a covenant with God and my future husband (not sure who he is yet FYI) when I get married in the temple. I live my faith by choosing faith in Jesus Christ each day. A lot of times it is easy and automatic. Other times it is much harder. Like when I feel abandoned. When I'm hurting. I choose to stay with Him when it's hard. I choose to trust Him. I choose to never, ever give up. I choose joy that comes only because of Him. We can be happy in any circumstance. He is joy!

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The Mormon Prophet today is President Thomas S. Monson. He receives revelation for all of God's children (everyone in the world). God always has called prophets to guide His children and to teach us what He would have us know. God calling a prophet today is a demonstration of His character--He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He loves His children!! Show more Show less
