Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a mother. I'm a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three children. I have a Bachelors Degree and when my husband is done with medical school I plan to return to school and get a doctorate degree and become physical therapist. I love athletics specifically Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track and Field. I love hiking, backpacking, kayaking, camping and most anything done in the great outdoors. I have a great love of reading and love to learn. I love studying history; specifically the history of this great country and its founders.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church all of my life and with that blessing I have had parents who have lived what they believe. I grew up understanding that my parents believed and understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Though I have grown up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints I have had to come to believe it myself. I have always loved the values and the emphasis on family that the church teaches, but I have come to know and love my Savior Jesus Christ and that he blesses and enriches my life through this church. I have great fellowship in this church anywhere in the world that I go that has the Mormon church in it because it is the same. It may be in a different language but I now what they are teaching because the doctrines are the same. I find great comfort in that. Also, because of this religion I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, that He suffered in Gethsemane, was crucified on the cross at Golgotha, was resurrected from the tomb, that He lives and has overcome death, and that only through His great sacrifice can we be saved. I served a mission for my church and through the studies and the preaching of this gospel I have come to understand the importance of a restoration of God's Church on earth and that through the Prophet Joseph Smith He restored many truths that have been lost and with the translation of the Book of Mormon we can know that there is a God, that it is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and that it supports the Bible to tell the world that Jesus is the Christ the savior, and that through Him we are saved. In these simple truths of faith, values, family, security and belief I have continued to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday-Saints. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach the 15 to 18 year olds in my church. Each week we learn from the scriptures, the New and Old Testament and also The Book of Mormon, to build and strengthen theirs and my faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have had the privileged the past three years to help organize a summer girls youth camp for my church that teaches girls things like emergency prepared mess, self reliance, camping safety and spiritual growth in the young women values of faith, divine nature, individual worth, choice and accountability, good works integrity and virtue. I am part of the Student Spouses association for my husband's medical college and do community service projects and help medical students wives adjust to the demands of medical school on their family. We help one another here at school to adjust. I also help with my children's soccer league by coaching and helping out where it is necessary.
