Hi I'm Mac McFarlane

I grew up in the Luthern church, sang in the choir and took part in the team sports of the church.softball and dartball.

About Me

I am 73 yearold and have lived a rather active life. In my 50's I was slowed down by asthma that turned into COPD. I am on oxygen a lot of the time, altho a lot less than when I was in St. George Utah. Being 19 feet above sea level, there is a lot more oxygen available for me to breath. I took up painting in my mid 60's and enjoy painting landscapes or seascapes. At this time I live with my daughter and her family. There is a room in the garage that I call my cave and this is where I sleep, compute and paint. I enjoy my families get togethers birthdays, holidays, picnics. Having 4 daughters and their families in Corpus Christi makes it easy to enjoy time with each other. I really enjoy going to the beach in the evenings and watch the waves coime rolling in to shore. There is always a nice breeze coming off the gulf, so it is coolerd than other parts of the city.

Why I am a Mormon

I would like to say that I am perfect, but that would be a lie. There has been only one perfect person that lived on this earth, Jesus Christ, and I'm no where close to being like him. I try but fall short. Knowing that Christ atoned for my sin and the sins of the world has made me more aware of the tempting of Satan and a stronger desire to resist all of his temptings. I know that I am a child of God and that through Christ sacrifice, I can return and live with the Father some day. I know that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God, the redeemer, the savior of the world. My desire is to have all my family and friends new and old return to live with Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the Gospel Principles class, working with the missionaries, attending the Temple and helping there and attending every Sunday meeting. The missionaries know that I can be called on at almost any time to go with them and teach or fellowship. I always show respect to the ladies that enter my car by opening their door when they get in the car. I feel that treating others with respect they will more at ease when we talk of things, ie gospel, concerts, movies.
