Hi I'm Tucker Austin

I love to run, listen to music and spend time with my friends and family and I speak Spanish!

About Me

I was born in provo utah, I come from a big family of 7 children and my two parents, I've always had a passion for playing sports and exercising. I love spending time with my little brother who has special needs.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a mormon, I was born into the church, but over time I came to realize that i needed to find out for myself if this was the right church for me. I knew that god could tell me if i prayed and asked him, and so I have prayed multiple times to know if what i am doing and if what i believe is true. and i know it is true by the fruits that it brings. I've noticed it brings me a lot of happiness to read the book of mormon, to do things that we learn through the church are good things, like serving others, praying, and spending time together as a family. And although i have doubts every now and again, God has always helped me to find good in the bad situations in life.

How I live my faith

In the book of john it says that "faith without works is dead" and so I believe that if we don't act on the faith that we have it is useless. And so i think the best way that i live my faith is through acting on the faith in christ that i have. In helping others just like he would, i love to volunteer my time to build up others. To help them with any service that they might need and trying to be optimistic about any situation.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Tucker Austin
The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets that lived here in the Americas. It contains the history of the people that lived here. We know there were ancient civilizations that lived here, but without the book of mormon we only know about how god interacted with the people that lived in Jerusalem, thanks to the Book of Mormon we know 100% that god loves all of us equally, no matter where we are from, or how much money we have. The Book of Mormon has changed my life, and I know that it will change anyone's life who reads it and prays about it. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Tucker Austin
Missionaries dedicate 100% of their time for 2 full years to teaching the gospel! They make the decision to serve because they are grateful for the blessings that they have received from heavenly father and they want to share those blessings with others. Missionaries do not receive any money for their service and even pay to do it! If you ask any member how their family joined the church, they will most likely be able to tell you a great story about the missionaries that helped them come into the church, and the good hearts that they have. What are Mormon Temples used for?

Tucker Austin
Temples are a really sacred place, often called God's home, there we can go and feel the peace that his love can bring us. We can leave behind our worries and seek answers to our prayers. In the Temple I have had many experiences of peace, and happiness. Each time I go I have learned something new, and i often receive answers to questions I have. Also in the Temple we are sealed as families, which means that when we leave this life, we can live with our families forever if we live the commandments. It means so much to me that I will be able to live with my family again after this life. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Tucker Austin
Mormons often dedicate much of their time to special service projects. As a youth growing up in the church i can remember volunteering many hours to creating hygiene kits that would be donated to the Red Cross so that they would be distributed to those who have experienced natural disasters and need them. We also frequently do service projects in our communities, to help out individuals with their yards or homes, or we fix up parks and campgrounds! Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Tucker Austin
As i have read the scriptures i have seen huge blessings in my life! Often I have turned to the scriptures when i've been confused, or lost. And i don't think there has been a single time that I haven't received an answer of some kind. One of my teachers growing up in the church said "when we want to talk to god we pray, when we want him to talk to us we read the scriptures. " It's so true! in the scriptures we find god's words written by prophets. We can receive guidance and motivation as we try to do our daily tasks. I read the scriptures daily because i need daily guidance from my heavenly father. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Tucker Austin
In the Bible and in the Book of Mormon it describes the leaders of the church as men who were righteous and were able to support themselves. This is a model for how Christ's church should be established. For that reason we don't receive pay for the service we do in our church. However as we serve we get to learn more, develop our talents and grow spiritually as we improve. Show more Show less
