Hi I'm Jake McMahon

I'm from Indiana. I'm currently serving my mission in Barcelona, Spain. Music is my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

What to say?! I love to sing and just be around music. Music is my life, and in my opinion, one of the biggest comforters in the world. Where there is good music, there is joy. I also love just hanging out with my friends, and having good wholesome fun. I also love to longboard. There is nothing better than going out after cars turn in for the night, and just riding on empty roads with some of your closest friends. I just love to live and enjoy life to the fullest. That's what it's all about! ¡Ciao!

Why I am a Mormon

Before becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I was Catholic. There was something missing in my life. As I attended MANY other church around where I live, nothing was filling the void. In the summer of 2007, my family and I were in Salt Lake City at temple square where we were reading about the church in the visitors centers. Something began to feel right. Later on in the visit, two sister missionaries stopped my family and I, and we began to have a casual conversation. One of the sisters was from Peru and had only been in the United States for around 3 months. Her English was not very good to say the least. Her American companion had to help us to understand her. After a few minutes of casual conversation, the sister from Peru indicated that she desired to bear her testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her testimony was short, yet beautiful. She spoke perfect English as she bore witness to the truths of this Church. She was blessed by our Heavenly Father to touch the hearts and souls of my family and I. I could not deny that what I had heard. In all honesty the rest is history. Here I am. A "couldn't be happier" member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that our Savior and our Heavenly Father live. I know that they want to bless us. I know that through the Book of Mormon, and the Bible, that we can find eternal truths of the divinity of Jesus Christ, and how we can follow in His footsteps to be able to live with our Heavenly Father again. This is the true church of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God on the earth today. I know it, I know that God knows it, and I cannot deny it. In the Sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith through being a full-time missionary serving in the Spain, Barcelona Mission. As I have bought into my calling as a literal respresentative of the Savior Jesus Christ, I have learned that there is no better feeling in the world than serving others, and making someone else feel good, and knowing that that, is what Jesus Christ would do also. Reading the scriptures, especially the four gospels in the New Testament, helps me to know how I can better follow in the footsteps of my Savior. This is how I live my faith.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jake McMahon
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Through Him and His atonement, we have the opportunity to live with our Heavenly Father again. 2 Nephi 31:20-21 Show more Show less
