Hi I'm Ivy Christian

I grew up in the Philippines. I became a nurse and was introduced to the gospel by the man who became my husband.

About Me

I am a child of God. I was raised by loving parents and grew up with three (3) cool siblings; two (2) sisters and a brother. I am a nurse and a wife. I worked as an Occupational Health Nurse in the Philippines for four (4) years before I moved in the United States and married my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

On the last quarter of 2009, two young men (missionaries) knocked on our door and my father's heart. As the head of the family, my father influenced us in everything we do. He let the young men enter our home and there started our quest to know more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At first, my mother and I were hesitant about the teachings of the Church. But those young men never forced us to accept the doctrine. They told us to pray about it. We did pray about it until we were converted and baptized as members of the Church that same year. Since then, I am amazed to witness how our family is blessed through the gospel. Our lives changed because of the restored gospel. I felt it then, and I still feel it today, the truthfulness of the gospel and that Jesus lives. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. He will never forsake us. He's always with us!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient and truthful to the commandments, serving and loving others. Sometimes, I fall short of the covenants I made to do those things but I'll never give up on trying. Having been raised in a world where most of the people around me smoke, drink and swear, it is hard to live my faith. Though I am a practicing nurse who should be an advocate of healthy living, temptation never leaves me alone. I lost friends by avoiding those vices. But as long as I'm alive, I will stand with what I believe in. I'll trust in Him no matter how many friends turn their back on me.
