Hi I'm Jared

I'm Spanish speaking missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I'm a twin, and yep, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Jared, I love to bowl, play soccer, golf, and basically any sport there is! I am from Utah and currently am serving as a missionary for the church in Texas! I come from a family of 5 kids and one of them is my twin brother(Just Serving on the other side of the Border in Mexico!). That's something not everyone gets to experience! I love to meet people and share my beliefs here as a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but that doesn't mean that we are all 100% committed to it! There is a promise at the end of the Book of Mormon that if we read it, ponder(study then think about it), and then pray about it with REAL INTENT (ready to act on the answer we receive), We will receive an answer form our Heavenly Father. He loves us, I can feel this love as I live the teachings of the gospel and I help others find it for themselves as well. As I now invite others to do, I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and received an answer for myself from our Father in Heaven that the Book is true. Knowing this, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church here on Earth once more!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a Spanish speaking missionary for the Church in the Texas McAllen Mission(The Great TMM!!) and it is a great opportunity for me to further my knowledge of the gospel and be able to spread our message of happiness and joy with all those who are willing to hear!

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written anciently by, as was the Holy Bible, by PROPHETS. The difference is that the Book of Mormon was written in the American Continent. These prophets knew about Christ's role in our lives (die for our sins), God's love, and the commandments God has given us. The people who lived on the continent during the Book of Mormon times had a faith, knowledge, and belief in Christ and that he would come to save the world from their sins and also come and visit them in the Americas. The Book of Mormon teaches many of the same principles as the Bible, but from a different perspective. As we use this second "witness" that JESUS IS THE CHRIST, we will learn the true nature of the love of God, and truly know our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary. This means that I have given up: School, work, my family, my friends, personal pursuits such as marriage or a career, and a lot of other things to come and serve the children of God. We as missionaries do it because we have seen the effect that the Gospel has had in our own lives, and we want to share the happiness of this message with all of our Brothers and Sisters (all of you, yes, YOU!) so they can know the truthfulness of the RESTORED GOSPEL, and live the commandments of God to receive all the happiness they could ever want!
