Hi I'm Crystal

I'm a wife, mommy, and photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About eight years ago my older brother's friend asked me out. We had a good time on our first few dates, seeing movies and going out to eat with friends. Time made me realize I was falling for this guy. He became my best friend and love, and after about a year of dating, we tied the knot. I was attending college at the time, studying elementary education. After I graduated, I started teaching third grade. I loved collaborating with my fellow faculty members and interacting with fun and energetic students. I made some life-long friends while working there. After a couple of years, I had my first child. I started teaching half time at that point to be able to spend more time with my son at home. I started gaining and interest in photography, so I purchased a DSLR and started practicing on my son. I began reading books and taking classes on photography to learn how to use my properly. A year or two later, I had another beautiful baby and decided to quit teaching and pursue my new interests full-time, being a mom, homemaker, and aspiring photographer. That is where I stand now. I spend most of my days at home with my adorable kiddos, editing pictures during nap time, and going out on photo shoots here and there. Every few weeks I host my son's joy school class, so I am able to still do the other thing I love, teaching. I am so happy in this chapter of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I think of the things in my life that bring me the most joy, I think of my family, my friends, and my loving Heavenly Father. Being a Mormon, or being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, creates a pathway for me to be with the ones I love forever. God has a plan for us, and it is a plan of happiness. This truth has been reaffirmed to me so many times in my life. I want to be the best I can and live with God again. All of the commandments and all of the covenants do not hinder me in any way. In fact, they are the things that, in the end, make me the most confident and happy. I could never express the love I have for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the atoning sacrifice he made for me. It makes it possible for me to be forgiven for anything I have done wrong or anything my loved ones have done wrong, so that we can be together forever. Nobody is perfect, and that is why we need Him so desperately. I know this is true.

How I live my faith

My faith is weaved into everything I do. I am trying to be the best mother I can be, and I am so thankful I have guidance from the scriptures, the leaders of the Church, and Heavenly Father to help me know what to do. I enjoy interacting with and serving others in my neighborhood and community. My calling right now in the Church is to help coordinate the visiting teaching program in my ward. I love being a part of something that helps women gain friendships, learn about the Gospel, and receive help when they are in need. I don't know what I would do without my faith. It effects everything in my life in a positive way.
