Hi I'm Cindy Wilhelm Irvine

I am a red-head. I am a singer and a voice teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of two "super-hero's." I guess that makes me a "super mom!" My kids do online school during the day. I teach voice lessons. I LOVE to sing. I spent A LOT of my life performing in theatre. When I had kids, I stopped performing and became a Musical Director. Music is a part of who I am. It speaks to me, and lets me speak to others where words might fail. I attended Layton High School- GO LANCERS!!!! After that, I attended the University of Utah. I served a mission for the church in the Washington DC area, mostly in Northern Virginia. Along with being a mom, wife, voice teacher, musical director and a RED-HEAD, I also have a home based business as an Independent Distributor, so I stay busy!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense. I have never been one to follow my "feelings." It's something that I am working on, but I have always needed to do research. Things just have to make sense to me. The doctrine of this church makes sense. One day, after doing my own research in the church, I finally trusted the "feeling" that I got about it. I finally accepted that what I was feeling was the spirit. The Lord had shown me in my mind and in my heart that this church was the right one for me, and the teachings were accurate and true. I couldn't deny that. I haven't denied that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith EVERY DAY. I currently serve as a counselor to the church's local women's organization in. I LOVE this. It gives me a chance to focus on others that need help. It allows me to serve. I never thought that I was one that was compassionate to others' needs or the needs of those around the world, but this calling has taught me that I am! I continue to grow and learn more about myself on a daily basis. As a mother, I try to instill in my boys the importance of having a personal relationship with their Heavenly Father. The best way to teach this is through example. When I can, I pray with them, read scriptures with them, and talk to them about times that they feel the spirit in their lives. They watch me with eagle eyes and often remind me of things that I might be doing that I probably shouldn't. (This very often is used as bait to get out of trouble... ;-))

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Cindy Wilhelm Irvine
Christ taught that Baptism must be performed to enter into the kingdom of God. Some people go through this life without ever getting that opportunity. We as members of this church want to give everyone that opportunity. Therefore, we perform baptisms for and on behalf of those that have gone before this. Because we believe that our spirits live on past this life, we also believe that those that we perform the baptisms for will have the opportunity to CHOOSE to accept or deny the baptism.
