Hi I'm Shannon

I love to sing. I am a mother of 5 and a business owner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy spending time with my family. My wonderful husband and I have 5 beautiful children. I completed my degree in Elementary Education. I own a busy preschool and it is so much fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy! I am so very blessed to have this church as a part of my life. I know my life would be very different without it. My Mom did not grow up as a Mormon. She was a teen Mom. I was her second child, born when she was only 18. She married my Dad when she was 16 and my older brother was born shortly after. My Dad was a baptized member of the church, but has never been active. He has struggled his entire life with addictions; especially to alcohol. My Mom was baptized when she was in her 20's and it changed the entire course of our lives. She brought us to church by herself every Sunday. We gained an entire church family who helped teach our family about the gospel and loved us through serving us. I was blessed to attend primary and especially loved the Young Women's program where we learned about values, morals, self worth and how to set and achieve goals. I had many role models in the church and I was able to witness first-hand, the blessings of the gospel in their lives and in the lives of their family and I wanted that! My faith and this gospel has helped me through very difficult trials in my life. Most recently, my Mom, who was my rock in every way, lost her battle to cancer and returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 3, 2011 followed by my Grandmother 5 days later. I lost 2 of the most important role models of my life at the same time and had to help my Dad through the loss of his beloved spouse of 38 years and his mother. Dad turned to his addiction. I turned to my Savior. That's the difference. Being an active member of the Mormon church for most of my life, helped me develop a testimony of the meaning and purpose of life. I know that I will see my Mom again and she watches over me and her loved ones here. I want to live my life in way that makes her proud and also pleases my Heavenly Father. I try to love and serve others in my life as Jesus did.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith simply by following the commandments and living by the "Golden Rule". I enjoy working with and teaching children of all ages at church.
