Hi I'm Terry

I am a scientist. I have a Masters and a Ph.D degree. I have taught at the college and university level for many years.

About Me

I raised 14 children, 7 natural and 7 adopted. I spent many years working my way through school and by the grace of God (and I mean that literally) I received a NASA fellowship and later a NIH fellowship to complete both a masters and then a doctoral degree in the biochemistry of plants.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know that my Savior is Jesus Christ which means that He was the Messiah (the Savior of the world). Jesus did not just die on the cross for us, He also suffered incredible pain in the garden of Gethsemane just prior to the crucifixion (Luke 22:44) paying for sins he did not commit; paying so that we would not have to. For us He passed through an ordeal that was unbelievably painful, incredibly soul wrenching, outstandingly heroic, and without equal in the annals of eternity. His ordeal commenced in the garden and ended with His last words "it is finished!" Could not God save Him from this pain? The answer is no! If he could have he would have! (Mark 14:34-36).

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of charity toward others of all faiths and inclinations. I spent two and a half years in Mexico as a young man teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Later after Hurricane Mitch, which devastated Honduras Central America, I served 7 months as a volunteer for the evangelical church helping to restore homes for people who had lost everything.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Terry
Of course not! We are Christians and we believe that everyone is a child of God and therefore has a right to our love and assistance. However there is a line drawn between enabling and assisting. We will help anyone who wants to help himself. Show more Show less
