Hi I'm Casey

I grew up in Redlands, California, I'm on a mission in Ukraine, Kiev. I like basketball and golf. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Casey, and Im 20 years old and serving a 2 year mission for the LDS church in Kiev Ukraine. I'm a huge fan of any and every sport out there, including basketball, football, and volleyball, but at the end of the day, my favorite sport is golf. Before my time as a missionary, I studied Mechanical Engineering with the hope of designing and making golf clubs, why not absolutely love your job? As much as I loved the trips I have had around the US, I can't see myself living anywhere else except the West Coast for most of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Having constant interaction with so many different walks of life has helped me to understand just how many different paths can be taken in the world. Some suggest that the intent of God is for everyone to find what works for them, but 2 years of hearing that is more than enough to convince me that God wouldn't endorse such a confusing and unfullfilling method of finding happiness. Anyone can come up with their own opinions and live by them, but it takes a special amount of humility to recognize that maybe God knows better. And thats exactly what I am continuing to realize. If you believe that God loves us, then you have to believe that He wants to helps us understand our purpose on Earth. However, the fullness of the gospel, as revealed through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints offers even more. Through the gospel, I have come to learn my purpose before, during and after this life. I've come to learn my relationship with family, myself, God, and others. With all of these separate lessons combined, I've began to realize just how much influence God can have in our lives, and its only fitting that he helps us understand, and those are teachings that can only be recieved through a lifetime of discipleship as only the Church of Jesus Christ teaches.

How I live my faith

Being on a 2 year mission has given me the opportunity to understand just how life changing the principles of the gospel can be when they are absorbed into every characteristic of daily life. Every day, I can take the time to study the scriptures and find ways to apply those principles into the lives of others. As I watch the principles of the gospel illuminate other peoples lives, I strengthen my own understanding of their importance. Every day, I watch as people make decisions for themselves that lead them closer to Christ. As I've come to learn more and more about the gospel, I've come to realize just how amazing it is that every principle of the gospel can bring its own blessings to you in its own time. You can watch others and see how they follow the commandments and make a decision from there, or you can try those commandments for yourself and see how it changes your life. The theme of my mission so far has been "Finding out for yourself". Thats a theme that helps me more than any other when it comes to making a decision, and thats the theme that will bring any honest person a thorough understanding of the truths of God.
