Hi I'm Sherese

I have lived all my life in Las Vegas. I will serve a mission to Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine in a few weeks. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to read clean romance books which I can find at the LDS bookstore or on Goodreads.com, especially Marcia Lynn McClure, Gail Carson Levine, Betty Neels, and Georgette Heyer. I am a runner and I have been in Young Women's and Primary leaderships roles all of my life. I have learned that the pure love and testimony of little children is unconditional and amazing, they know simple truths and don't question what their Father in Heaven wants for them. I have always had a love for languages and a great want to live in the cold and in a few weeks I will be serving in the Dnepropetrovsk Ukraine mission! I love people and my goal in life is to help make the people I meet just a little happier. I am extremely excited and grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always gone to church and I was baptized at the age of eight as a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have followed what my teachers and parents believe because it felt right and good and I had no reason to question my beliefs. After I graduated High School I went through a few weeks here and there where I missed church because I stayed up late and was too tired to get up. Since I was now eighteen my parents knew that it was my choice to do what I thought was right so when they came into my room and asked if I was ready to go to church and I said I was too tired they didn't question me and went to church. I soon realized that I was probably not happy with my life because the Church that I believed in and loved was no longer a part of my life, so I made a New-Years Resolution to go to bed by midnight, at the latest, and get up for Church. Boy did I feel better. Now I know and believe with all of my heart that this Church is true, and I will strive to never miss a Sunday! I truly hope that you can feel the spirit too and know that this Church is true and that the Book of Mormon is Doctrine from God. I know that I want to really be happy in life and to be blessed with a loving husband and children and that if I do what is right then the Lord will bless me with this family! Always remember that you are NEVER alone, the Lord is always with you especially in times of need, you just need to reach out and take his hand and he will guide you back to the light.

How I live my faith

Right after I graduated from High School I got a calling to teach in Young Womens (girls church group ages 12-18) over the Beehives (girls ages 12-13). Since I had just finished Young Womens I was nervous and didn't exactly know how to be an exciting teacher and how to keep their attention. Those girls taught me that everyone is nervous and that every testimony can grow daily and that little signs of kindness and love can make the day brighter. Now I am a teacher in Primary ages 3-5 (Sunbeams). Everyday I try to have twelve energetic children sit down for at least a five minutes lesson. I have learned from these beautiful kids that it is okay to ask questions and to not understand everything that is taught me and that Jesus is real and if I will only Believe in Him than I can surely be happy!
