Hi I'm Jeanette

I was born and raised in Southern CA. I'm attending BYU-Idaho to become an elementary school teacher. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I just got married to the man of my dreams in the Redlands Temple August 18, 2012. I have three brothers and loving parents. I love playing soccer, jogging, and trying out new workout routines such as insanity and p09x. I really love baking/cooking, arts and crafts, and just being around the people I love. Some other things I love doing: hiking, biking, and playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been I member all my life, but I wasn't completely converted until I was 13. The Book of Mormon is one of the defining characteristics of our faith and I hadn't read it until I was 13. I read Moroni's promise at the end of the Book of Mormon which said to pray about the Book of Mormon and ask if it was true. I did this everyday until I finished the whole book. I felt that the Book of Mormon was true. Then it hit me, if this book was true then Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that means that this church was true as well! Ever since this realization I have continued to pray and read the scriptures. I got sealed to my husband in the temple which means we'll still be together in the next life. I am so glad to be a mormon.

How I live my faith

I have done many things to participate in the church. One of my favorites was learning to play the organ for sacrament meeting. I played from ages 16-21. I love all the activities the church has to offer. For example the Ontario Stake would plant trees for the city every year. I also remember sewing blankets for those less fortunate. I was also fortunate enough to help my stake plan activities for the youth. We would plan dances, trek (pioneer reenactment), and mormon prom. Mormon prom is a prom that mormons and non-mormons can go to. It's free and is very fun! I am so glad to have been able to participate in this church.
