Hi I'm Thomas

I grew up in Kentucky, served a mission in El Salvador, serve in the United States Air Force, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a fun-loving active guy and I'm always ready to start a pick-up game of basketball, football, soccer, or ultimate frisbee, but I also appreciate a little time to myself to think, which I get by going camping, hiking, or just watching the moon or a nice sunset.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is something so special that, once introduced and understood will without question improve the lives of all who are willing to accept God's help. There was a time where I didn't want to believe that, and I would not wish upon anyone the pains, struggles, and sicknesses of which I suffered during that time of foolish rebellion against a being who only wished for my happiness. I felt constricted, without options and without direction. Through the inspiration from my church leaders and the Book of Mormon, I finally came to understand that I was choosing to make my life miserable by "[kicking] against the pricks." Once I realized, understood, and accepted what I had to do I asked for His forgiveness. I was overcome with joy and shock in learning how much He really did care for me. I know that I wouldn't have found the direction and strength to carry on if it weren't for the leaders in the church, and the power of the Book of Mormon. I know of a complete surety that God has a plan in which He expects me to play a part, and if I follow His counsel and make myself worthy of being that part, then I will find more joy, strength, and purpose than any other undertaking man could possibly conceive.

How I live my faith

I grew up without any doubts about the church, and any concerns I had were readily answered by loving friends who had my best interests in mind. I struggled for a long time about how to best live my life and if I really wanted the church to be a part of it for my whole life. I finally came to the realization that it was not a choice I could make; having known the many blessings and the joy the church gave me, I couldn't choose any other lifestyle and be happy with myself. Today I try to help people understand how much of a personal relationship they can have with Savior, and how they can feel His divine influence improving their lives as much as I do.
