Hi I'm Taylor Barlow

I love to laugh, I'm serving a mission in Mesa Arizona, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a missionary in the Mesa Arizona Mission and I love it. I LOVE sports, especially baseball and basketball. I've been playing sports for as long as I can remember. Don't get too close or I'll cross ya over, step back and drop a 3 ball. I have a hobby / collection of shoes, specifically Nike's and Jordan's. I own over 60 pairs, my mom says it's a sickness, I call it a kickness. My parents were divorced when I was 1 1/2, so I've lived back and forth throughout my life. It was hard a lot of the times but it has made me who I am today and I wouldn't change it. My family is awesome, we always laugh and have fun. My motto is a laugh a day keeps the doctor away. I love making people laugh and just having a good time. The world is crazy, but I've learned that you can always be yourself and just smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me true happiness and peace in my life. I was born into the church, all of my family members are LDS. However, I myself did not always have a testimony of the church. As I grew older I began to fall away and forget about church and live my life. When I was about 18 I started realizing how unhappy I was and that my life had no direction, I was just treading water so to speak. I realized that the only thing that had changed was church. I started attending again and it was like I received instant happiness. I knew that that was where I belonged and that it is the only true church on the earth today, with the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that I was able to gain a testimony of my own and I love going to church. It is pure happiness and the blessings never end.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being kind to everyone, and striving to be an all around good person. My mom started a small community service group in my town in California, and now it has over 100 members. They go around and clean parks, help elderly with their yard work or stacking wood, even pick random streets and clean them. They now do service project trips all over the country. Serving others is a big part of my life and I love helping those in need. As a missionary, we have a lot of opportunities to help others and it always feels good to focus on others and not yourself.
