Hi I'm Dustin

I love sports and I don't care who knows, I'm from Texas, I love beans, Whales and Power Rangers, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a suburb of Dallas. As a result, I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks. I love playing and watching sports. I'll try just about any sport, even if I stink at it. I grew up with 4 kids in the family and we were blessed to be joined by another baby brother when we least expected it. He has down syndrome and has blessed our family in so many ways. I went to school at BYU-Idaho and then left for a mission in Las Vegas, Nevada. What a blessing it is.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is meant for all and invites all to dicover for themselves whether Jesus is the Christ. I grew up in the church and my parents always had me doing things that I didn't understand. I always heard others testimonies and felt the Spirit many times. I can't say that there was a single time when I had a magnificent epiphany and knew what I must do. But along the path of life, we face many trials. I couldn't handle these on my own. I slowly began to humble myself and let the Atonement cleanse me and change the natural man inside me. I look back on my life and see how I would've handled situations that I now face. I rememeber all the witnesses I've recieved from sharing my testimony and from hearing others. I think of the pain I've been in and how I've been able to get past that and I know it was not of my own doing. I know with all of my heart and cannot deny the divinity of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that the power of the Atonement is infinite and eternal. Never can a man or woman go to far that Christ will give up on him. He accepts all to come and be healed and will give them the love and peace that they desiere. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and that I can return to live with him again because of Christ. I know that families are forever in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and that he blesses and streangthens families that put Christ in the center of their lives. I know as we look to Christ, we cannot be led asray, for he loves us all, and will do nothing save it be for the betterment of our lives. I know that a prophet guides us and gives us counsel from our Father in Heaven even today. I hope that all will take the opportunity to at least try to receive these blessings and feel the love that He has for us. It is a blessing that none can afford to pass up. And such a small sacrafice is required of us in comparison to what is promised from God. I know that this is true for the Spirit has testified to me as it has to so many.

How I live my faith

Serving a mission was the greatest decision of my life. The principles of the gospel that I've learned have been pricless and something I would trade for nothing else. One of the most important things I've learned is the emphasis that our Heavenly Father's opinion takes precidence over all else. We can't base our decisions on the opinions of the world but rather we must consult with our Father and keep our gaze focused on Christ and we can be guided throughout the world we live in, despite obstacles and diversions. The Atonement of Christ makes this possible. It makes "bad men good, and good men better." I love the healing power of the Atonement and understand the sacrafice and commintment on our part that it requires. We have to always do our best to follow Christ and we can feel his love. If we do this, we will be able to see and feel the changes it makes in our life, guaranteed. I also have come to learn that I sign of true conversion is having the desire and willingness to preach the gospel. Once we have experienced the joy that only the restored gospel can bring, we have to share it with all the children of our Heavenly Father. I hope and pray daily that the Spirit will attend me as I seek for those who are prepared and I know that the promise is given that we will "not be confounded before men." I love Jesus Christ and strive to keep him in all my thoughts and actions and humble myself so that he may help me become the servant that he wants me to be and I hope to become.

What is faith?

This is an often misunderstood word in today's world. Faith is a verb, an action word. We believe in that which we don't see but we hope for. If we hope for something, we will act in order to get it. If we have faith in Christ and believe he is the Son of God, then we know that his teachings are directly from our Heavenly Father. God commanded all that they should be repent and be baptized. He commanded all that they should love one another. If we believe it, then do it. Show more Show less
