Hi I'm Chris

I'm an average young adult, trying to find my way in life. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like sports, especially football. My favorite team is the Chicago Bears. I also like paintball. I'm a young man currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Before serving a mission I went to and graduated high school and attended a local University where I studied Spanish and History for a year. As a missionary I've committed two years of my life to serving the Lord in the beautiful city of Philadelphia.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always very strong in the LDS Church, there was a while I didn't know what I believed. One night though; I decided to begin reading the Book of Mormon, one chapter every morning and another every evening. It was a very long and seemingly tedious effort, trying to juggle time for homework, scripture reading, and sleep. But as I read I noticed a considerable difference in my life, I was happier, and the days I read were far better than the days I forgot. Finally in March of 2011 I kneeled down after finishing the Book of Mormon and prayed asking my Father in Heaven if the teachings in that Book are true. Immediately I was overcome by the spirit; my chest was filled with an immense warm feeling, I felt overwhelmingly joyful, and tears of that joy began to run. This is why I am a member and am currently serving the Lord. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Christ's Church has been restored to the Earth with the fullness of His gospel. I know that He is our savior and through Him we can be forgiven of all things. I have a testimony of these things, and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the church my entire life, and I try to show others my beliefs through my example. I'm now serving as a missionary of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I do this to show my gratitude to the Lord for the wonderful joy He has blessed my life with and hope to share this joy with others. I also live my faith by being obiedent to the commandments, both new and old, to show my reverence and respect for God.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, this is knowledge that we hold dear and true to our hearts as members in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When we pray we close our prayer in His sacred name, when we give priesthood blessings they are also closed in the Savior's name. It is through Him that the blessings of Heaven and the ability to overcome death and temptation are given. I know that without Him I would be very lost in the world, His Gospel gives me a sense of direction in life. Christians are those who follow the teaching of Christ, and as a member I strive to do so everyday of my life. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When missionaries come to your home they will either introduce themselves as "Representatives of Jesus Christ" or "missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ". This is because our message is one of happiness, peace, and of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored by God through a modern day prophet, and the Church that Christ organized is once again here on the Earth. Missionaries will teach how through the Gospel all people can be truly happy with their families in this life and in the life to come, and how we all can return to live with God, our Father in Heaven.
