Hi I'm Tom Hunt

Southern boy who grew up on the Gulf Coast, and love competition. I'ma missionary in the Nebraska Omaha Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 22. I come from Pensacola Florida, and am proud of my southern heritage. I am serving a mission for the church, and have loved every minute out here in Nebraska. I'm full of sarcasm, and am a bit of a hard rocker who has recently developed a love for country music(go figure). I love going to the beach, out into the water, being out in the woods, mudding, playing the electric guitar, sports, shooting guns, and "friendly" competition. When I get home, I plan to serve my country in the United States Marine Corps, and finish up my education and become a surgeon. My goal is to specialize in orthopedics, and help athletes recover from sports injuries.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have become converted to the gospel myself. I was born into the church, but in my teenage years I started to not really care about my life, and what the church meant. I was getting ready to forgo my mission, and join the Marines with one of my best friends, and the newest member of the Bishopric stopped me in the hall one Wednesday, and wanted to talk to me. He explained that I reminded him a little bit like himself, and that he was in my shoes, but he chose to join the Marines instead. He went on to tell me of all the fun he had as a Marine, but concluded by telling me that he would trade all of it, and his metals for a chance to serve as a missionary, and he didn't want me to make the same mistake that he had. He than offered to pay for my mission, and here I am. I was changed my his kindness, and from then on I read the Book of Mormon again, and started praying more, and more. I love being a missionary, and the best part is the the USMC will still be there when I get back.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church right now, so, yes I'm one of the guys on a bike with the white shirt, and name tag. My purpose, and how I live my faith is to. . ."Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end (PMG pg:1)." I love everyone because we are all children of our Heavenly Father, and he loves all his children. even though life may get rough God has provided a way for us to communicate with him. prayer. That is the only way to talk to our father in heaven ,and to receive that personal insight that helps us get through our days, and also God has given us prophets to show us the way we need to go. He still provides us with that love today. Thomas S. Monson is that prophet today.
