Hi I'm Diego

I was born in Mexico. I have a testimony of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love trying out new things. I'm always looking for new experiences, people, places, even languages. I have many hobbies, most of them have to do with visual arts and design: drawing, screen printing, etc. I love everything about Mexico, our music, our people, our unique culture and especially the food! I have worked in the family business buying, restoring and selling art and antiques, it is a lot of fun because I have seen tons of interesting stuff and working with antiques helps me learn the value of preserving traditions. I have many dreams in life, become a painter, a linguist and have a family of my own. Some of the things I care about the most are having fun with my friends, keeping my body and mind healthy and being there for those that need me. The most important things in my life are my family, my faith and my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up I always had questions regarding religion, I always wondered what happened with all those that never had a chance to hear the gospel, especially those who lived in the ancient Americas. I was taught that all those that never accepted Christ in this life were supposed to spend eternity suffering, even if it wasn't their fault, for example little children who died without being baptized. One day, two missionaries knocked on our door and shared with us the message of the restoration of the gospel and they taught us about the Book of Mormon, a story about people in the Ancient Americas that also knew Jesus Christ. They also shared with us that Jesus' Atonement, or sacrifice, also covers those that died without having a chance to hear the gospel. I knew that was true, I always believed that God was a god of justice, so I decided to pray to find out if the missionaries were telling the truth. The answer I received was just a thought in my mind that it was all true and made perfect sense, it was a feeling of enlightenment. I was baptized with my family shortly after the missionaries started teaching us, it has been the best choice I've taken in my life. I know I have the opportunity to be with my family forever, even after death. I know my purpose in life and I know I have the love of Jesus Christ with me.

How I live my faith

At this point of my life I serve in the church as a full time missionary. This is a calling that focuses on helping others come closer to God through selfless service and helping people understand how to find faith in God and Jesus Christ, how to change their lives for better and how to make promises with God through baptism and also receiving guidance from his Spirit. Being a missionary is the best thing I have ever done, better than high school or college. I meet awesome people everyday, get to know them in a personal level and share how the restored gospel of Jesus Christ can help them, it is basically making friends everyday.
