Hi I'm Hillary

I love music and I love to travel! I'm currently serving a mission in upstate New York, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the youngest of two children and I absolutely love my family! I love to travel and experience new cultures and ways of life. I taught English in Russia and had a great experience there. I love to play the piano, sing, and listen to good, uplifting songs. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in New York. I love it! I love sharing my testimony and helping others come unto Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family and grew up going to church with them. However, I had to come to know for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true church of Jesus Christ. I had finished reading the Book of Mormon when I decided to follow Moroni's promise from Moroni 10: 3-5. I prayed to Heavenly Father and asked if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt the Holy Ghost so strong. It was such a comforting feeling and I felt like my heart would burst with happiness. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that we can return to live with God if we are obedient and follow the prophet. This gospel has a message of happiness, peace, and love. I am so grateful to be a part of it!

How I live my faith

Because I love music so much, a lot of my service in the church has been music-centered. I was the organist in my ward. I also played the piano for the ward choir. I love to go to church activities and feel the spirit that is present there. I do my best to be a good example in word and deed. One of the best parts of my day is reading my scriptures and learning from the prophets, past and present.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth. After we are baptized, we are able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost through priesthood authority. This means that if we live worthily, we can have the Holy Ghost with us at all times to guide and direct our lives. The Holy Ghost has the same purpose as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, but all three are separate beings. Show more Show less
