Hi I'm Elder Deyvson Lopes

I was born in Recife, Brazil. I was raised in Utah and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I started snowboarding just a couple years ago and I love it! I'm not a pro but I get better each time. I am Brazilian so I do love to watch and play soccer, my favorite teams are Santos and Sport.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member of the church since birth. I'd always gone to church most of my life.. I slowly became distracted with other things in the world and I stopped going and I forgot about the church. I never really had a solid answer about the church, but, I never even thought to find out for myself. A few years ago, I spoke to an Elder (missionary) and he told me things that really touched my heart. That night I felt something I'd never felt before. EVER. It was a feeling so strong that It brought me to tears. That night I vowed to read the Book of Mormon for the first time. To read it for myself. To find out for myself. I studied it more and more each day. That strange feeling came each time I read. It seemed to be growing each time I read. It was a good feeling, something hard to describe. A really good feeling I'd never felt before. I soon found out that feeling was the Holy Ghost.I started to get a testimony and start to believe more and more in God with each day that I read the Book Of Mormon.I asked God and I felt something so great in my heart and that day I KNEW God existed and the Book of Mormon was true.It made me so happy.I returned to church because I knew it was true. Not because some person told me. Not because I read it somewhere, but because of my DESIRE TO KNOW, I asked God Our Heavenly Father. I am happy to understand who Jesus Christ is and what He did for me, and for all of us.I am currently serving a mission in the Boston, Massachusetts area.

How I live my faith

Well I love going to my Single's ward, as well as my friends' singles wards. Sometimes I go to more than one ward on Sunday. Right now I'm preparing to go on a mission and I'm very excited and very happy to be going. I am going to Boston for a Portuguese speaking mission soon!
