Hi I'm Chang,Ting Chun

I'm a Mormon in Taiwan, and the first member of church in my family.

About Me

There are four members in my family, father, mother, elder brother and me. I'm the youngest but the first member of the church. I've graduated from University of Arts. I studied in the Theatre Department, majored in Playwriting. I like to record my life through words and pictures, I like to travel. I write my own songs and lyrics as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Eight years ago(2004, I was 14.) my classmate Jina invited me to go to church together, then we baptized. Actually, it was not that simple. In Taiwan, almost every family is Buddhism, so is mine. I was afraid that if I had baptized I would be blamed. Also, I hadn't have a strong testimony about the church and Jesus Christ. Then I pray. I pray for receiving a testimony that I can't deny. One day, I was reading the Book of Mormon that sister missionary asked me to do. I started in a sincere prayer. And something happened. It was not a miracle but I would like to called it a miracle. Because I felt great peaceful in mind and the word '' come and baptize'' repeated showing again and again. I can't remember the exact scripture. However, I'd like to share this scripture, which is in Alma 7:15, ''Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism.'' I know Heavenly Father loves me. He just asked me to do what he likes me to do. One year later, my elder brother, was baptized. And then, my mother. My father works in China, less chance does he have to hear the restored gospel. However, we still love him and hope someday he will be baptized. By that time, we will be a forever family.

How I live my faith

I teach young women in church. I was called in my age of 18. In summer vacation, I teach them singing, dancing, performing which is all I learn from school. I also ask them to exercise together. They develop their relationship and become familiar, closer, love each other more. We are friends. They are friends. They know they are not alone. Once they have difficulties, they will know whom to find. On sunday, I teach them gospel. It simply just is how to live well in their age. We discuss how to be a good daughter, how to develop their skills that they can rely on in the future, how to communicate with their parents and what to do to become more divine. They learn a lot. They are happy young women. Sometimes, I invite them to my house and my mother will teach them cook. It is fun. We act like a big family.I love to serve in church. It is a haappy life.
