Hi I'm Betsy

I am a teacher in an inner city school, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Michigan, the youngest of 4. After graduating from College, I moved miles away from family and friends to Maryland to take a job as a teacher in Baltimore. I graduated from Central Michigan University.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. However, when I reached adulthood, I had to decide if I believed in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had been taught by many great people, especially my parents, as I grew up through the different programs of he church, but still needed to find my own testimony. My road to building that testimony was not a smooth road, and at times questioned my faith. However, I always came back to the knowledge that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me, and wants me to be happy. The only place that I have found true happiness is the gospel and when I was living it to its fullest. When I begin to waiver, I think over all of the blessings that Heavenly Father has given me and has seen His hand in my life.I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and am thankful for it in my life

How I live my faith

I try to be the best example everyday to my colleagues and students. As a human being, we all fall short, but I continue to strive to be the best I can be. I currently teach 7-8 year olds in what we call Primary. I enjoy teaching them the principles of the gospel as they continue to teach me. It is a joy to serve our future generatons to help them gain and grow a testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and our Father in Heaven.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Betsy
One of the greatest parts of the church is our belief that families are forever. We build a strong relationship with our families while we are here on earth, and that relationship transfers over when we pass on. I look forward to seeing my grandmas and grandpa again. I also look forward to meeting my ancestors who I have not been privileged to know in this life. Show more Show less
