Hi I'm Alan

I grew up in a small town in Northern California. I enjoy playing sports and visiting national parks.

About Me

I am the father of four beautiful children. I love to spend time and laugh with my family. All of my children swim on a local club team and my wife helps coach the team. I love watching my kids work hard and improve. I like to be outside doing yard work, playing sports, or just enjoying the outdoors. One of my favorite activities is to be outside the city where I can look up at the sky and see the stars.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ lived, that he suffered for my sins, and that he is my Savior. I believe in the power of the Lord's forgiveness and if anyone needs his forgiveness it is me. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is his restored church on the earth today. The Holy Ghost has confirmed to me that this is the Lord's kingdom on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith firstly in my personal life. I strive to have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. Much of my faith revolves around trying to change myself to be better. This involves prayer, scripture study, pondering, and fasting. I know without Christ's redeeming power I would be without hope. I know that through him I can change and become better and that ultimately he has power to take away all of my faults and failures. I also live my faith with my family. For me living the gospel is a way of life. So much of what I do each day with my faith helps to remind me of my Heavenly Father. We pray, read scriptures, and eat dinner together each day. Just like any family sometimes these events and filled with arguments and the like but we keep trying to along and love one another. Our successes outnumber our failures (maybe not by much). I am also actively involved in my Ward (neighborhood church). Currently, I serve in the ward leadership as a counselor to our Bishop. This service is great because I get to know and interactive with so many other church members. I also get to spend a lot of time with our youth.
