Hi I'm Ivan

I grew up in the church but I had to truly convert my self and gain a testimony. Now I'm preparing to serve a mission.

About Me

Hi I'm 18 years old and i like to take photographs. I love to shuffle (if you know what that is) and hang out with my close friends from my ward. We grew up together so treat them as family. What i hope to study in the future is Psychology (but i don't know what branch yet). I find joy in helping others and i feel sad when i see others suffer so that is why I'm going to study psychology. Currently i am preparing to serve a mission and I'm hoping to see new countries.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up within the church and so i was brought up knowing about Joseph Smith and was taught why i should believe in the church. I was also baptized. But even the members are not really converted until they gain their own testimonies of the gospel of Christ. I have felt it many times where the spirit has testified of this church and the teachings. So i know in my heart that this church is the true church for without my family wouldn't be together and we wouldn't have endured through the trials that we have faced in the past. It has blessed me and my family and those around us.

How I live my faith

Currently in my ward I'm serving as second counselor in the Young Men's Presidency. I would never have thought that i would be serving my friends and be there for them as a leader. Either way i think i would have been there to help them. I also serve my ward by visiting the members on Sundays or any other day and see how they are doing. I also prepare lessons for my guys on Sundays. Any thing i can do to help my ward i will do it.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons believe that the Bible is also the word of God and are a sacred record that testify of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Together the Book of Mormon and the Bible both work together to testify of the same person and give more witnesses about the Son of God, Jesus the Christ. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Mormons can only enter into the temple when they have prepared themselves spiritually and are worthy to enter. Inside these temples holy (sacred) ordinances are performed, like binding husband and wife together for eternity, and also we learn about eternal truths. But when the church holds an open house non-members and members can enter the temple before the temple is dedicated. Show more Show less
