Hi I'm Parker Jones

Im a missionary, a Photographer, and i'm a Mormon

About Me

I served a full two year mission for the church in the NUMBER ONE mission EVER! If you were not called to the New York Utica Mission... You were called to the second best mission. Nuff said. I grew up in Utah, and have never lived anywhere else. And i am proud of it and am not afraid to admit that i am a full blooded Utahn (GO BYU). I am the oldest in my family, out of six children. I really do consider myself a family guy although i spent a lot of my teen and pre mission time with my friends. But my family is my world. I could never imagine what i would do without a GREAT family who raised me up right, in the ways of the lord. I am so lucky to be where i am today, and i owe it all to them :) I really enjoy the outdoors, I love photography, cars, my girl (yes, I did say that), my mission, the church, my family, rugby, life, music, and pretty much anything that uplifts, inspires and blesses my life and the life’s of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. i grew up in it. it’s a part of who i am! But i couldn’t always say that about myself. I am a firm believer that even we as members of the church need to have our own conversion, there has to be a moment when you realize that the church is really true. it cannot, and should not be because your parents or someone you know said that it is true. it needs to be for yourself. Growing up in "the bubble" or "happy valley" kids and teens also have struggles. i hate that people think that if you grew up in Utah that you are the perfect Mormon. You know, if you never grew up there you would never really understand how it really is i guess. i saw many friends choose the wrong paths throughout life, no one is perfect! That’s the great thing about the gospel though is the fact that anyone can change! As i questioned what i believe, when i was 15 i was to the point where i was done wondering if there was a god. i went through the motions at this point. i thought that it would be more easy for me to just not think about it anymore and that would make me more happy. False. What brought me to the knowledge that there really is a God is photography. I received an answer to prayer, through a hobby. i saw how beautiful life is through a lens. How can you deny that there is a god with all the beauty that is around us all? i came closer to god by looking at what i have around me and how blessed i am to have what i have. i love the lord, and this gospel.

How I live my faith

Everyday I have the opportunity to share the Gospel with all those that I come in contact with. I have set two years of my life aside and have been called by a prophet of God to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being able to teach others what they can do to come closer to Christ. I also live my faith by following the commandments that God has given us, and by trying to be a good example to others. I also live my faith by making it a habit to read from The Book of Mormon diligently, having a good attitude about church, and praying to heavenly father, knowing that I am a son of god and that he loves me and will answer my prayers.
