Hi I'm Rod McGrath

I live in Idaho. I love coaching football and running a football league for 8 - 14 year olds. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 2 children. My little girl is my princess at age 3 and my son is my little buddy at only 9 months old. I love my family. Growing up I didn't understand the value and importance of my family until I was about 18 and I felt the love and support from all of my family members. As a father now, I strive to show my love and support for each member of my family. I often times feel their love and support as I have been coaching football for the last 4 years and I am now running the same football league for 8 - 14 year olds. Our program has about 250 kids and is a part of a much larger 3,000+ football program. Additionally, I love watching sports. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and grew up a 49ers Fan. I have included myself as part of the Niner Faithful since I was about 8 (1992). I recently became interested in Nascar. While I don't have a favorite team or driver at this point, this skill, techniques and strategy involved have really interested me for some time. I find it incredible what those drivers can do at 180+ mph! I love to ride my motorcycle. My daughter and I will go for short rides around our neighborhood subdivision at very low speeds. This is one of our favorite past times together. The most important thing to know about me is that I have found the love of my Savior through different challenges, events and people that have been placed in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found the fulness of Gospel of Jesus Christ within the fundamental teachings and beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that He leads this church through a Prophet, Seer and Revelator in President Thomas S. Monson and the 12 Apostles. This church is organized and lead by a loving Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Furthermore, because the LDS church contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been able to be sealed to my family for eternity. By living His Gospel, I will have the opportunity to live eternally with my parents and family as well as my wife (and her family) and all of our children. Being a part of the LDS church means that I will enjoy the blessings of my family for eternity as I strive to keep the covenants I have made with my wife and my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to magnify my calling at the Advancement Chairman for our LDS Scout Troop and through serving the youth in our community. I have always felt that there is no greater calling in life, outside your own home and church, than to serve the youth of your community.
