Hi I'm Chris Tryon

I am married. I am a mother. I am an author and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a work-at-home Mom to 3 GREAT SONS! I have been married for 28 years. First and foremost, I am a daughter of God and am blessed to be a member of the world's largest support group for women: The Relief Society. I am a breast cancer 'thriver" I am a survivor that is thriving two and a half years after being initiated into a sisterhood that no woman would ever willingly choose to join. I wrote and published a memoir about my personal journey with breast cancer; the importance of faith, family and friendship; the lessons that I learned and what I wish I had known beforehand. It is titled: Dear Sister, My Bathroom Mirror Saved My Life and is currently available on Amazon and Kindle. I love to bake, do counted-cross-stitch and read. I also enjoy interacting with my family and friends and spend TOO MUCH TIME on facebook. I am also a natural health fanatic and have the library to prove it!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was 19. I had a close friend who had investigated several churches, but it wasn't until after she was baptized into the Church, that she invited me to come to church with her. I didn't ask her which church she was attending, I only asked her what time she would be picking me up on Sunday. When I entered the church for the first time, I felt like I had come home. I felt welcomed and was baptized two months later. I LOVED the fact that families can be together forever and that marriages are not "until death do us part." My parents divorced when I was 14 years old. So having this concept in mind gave me hope for my future and the future of my family. I realize that the gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect and that people are not. All of us make mistakes and it helps out tremendously when I am offended by someone that I need to remember to see them as Christ sees them. We are all brothers and sisters and He loves each and everyone of us. The gospel is true. Christ's Church has been restored to the earth. We have a living prophet on the earth to guide us in these latter days. If we will follow Christ's commandments to the best of our abilities, I KNOW that we will be able to live with Him again and that our families will be able to live together forever.

How I live my faith

I am the Ward Historian in my church. I have had this position for 4 years now. I spent close to 9 years working in the library. It is a position that I miss dearly and look forward to substituting when I am asked. I enjoy spending time with the sisters that I have been called to visit each month.

What is being a Mormon like?

Chris Tryon
One of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps us better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strive to keep God's "law" (Proverbs 29:18). Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Show more Show less
