Hi I'm Swede

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports. It doesn't matter what I'm playing, I just enjoy being active and a chance to compete with other people in a fun way. Although, basketball is my favorite sport. I also enjoy learning about computers. They fascinate me. That has led me to begin studying to be an electrical engineer. I don't know what I want to do for a career yet, but I know that I enjoy being around technology. I have time to figure it out.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? The short answer is the Book of Mormon. I've grown up as a member of this church, but I wasn't sure what my beliefs were. I decided I needed to read the Book of Mormon to know. I didn't go to bed one evening without a testimony and then wake up the next morning with one. My faith in the scriptures, in Jesus Christ, and His church has be a steady process and my faith is still growing. I also try to maintain my relationship with Heavenly Father through daily prayer. Both of those things have made me happier because the gospel is a message of joy and love.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love in my church is how involved everyone is able to get. I don't feel particularly knowledgeable or experienced at teaching, but I was given the opportunity recently to teach my congregation's Sunday school class where we were studying the Book of Mormon. Now, I feel a lot more comfortable about teaching and I'm thankful to have been given the assignment. Once a month, we have a testimony meeting on Sunday. For about half an hour, the congregation is given the opportunity to stand before the congregation and let them know what they know to be true or a spiritual experience they have had. I have my own testimony of the gospel, but it is comforting to hear others get up and share theirs. Two months ago, I decided to go to the podium and bear my testimony. I'm not into public speaking so it was a little scary. However, I just said a few things about my faith in Jesus Christ and the church. It's something I'll continue to do because I want to share with others the faith I've gained.
