Hi I'm Erin

I grew up as a small town girl in Idaho. I love animals. I went to college. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. I grew up in a middle class family where my parents were both public school teachers. There are many things that I had to wait to have in my life and had to work for myself. I have learned to take care of myself and had to put myself through college. I absolutely love animals and have made in my purpose to study them in college. I want to be an animal behaviorist. I want to help animals and help people to work with them better. I met my husband in college and we are still considered a "young married couple." I love to read. I have read hundreds of books so far in my life. I am thrilled when I find a really good book and can just curl up on the couch with a cozy blanket and just read all day. I love to sing. I come from a family who sings and it is just what I do. My favorite part to sing is alto. I love to sing all kinds of music, but I especially love to turn on some Disney music and sing to it while I clean up the place. My favorite place to vacation to is California. I love the beach, I love the weather, and I love the theme parks. I have a strong love for my family and value them more than anything in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born and raised as a Mormon. But it isn't just about being born into it; I have also had to decide for myself if this was what I really wanted, and it is. Both my parents are Mormons and I was born after they were married in the Salt Lake Temple. I was raised as a Mormon and was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was eight years old. As a child you are still learning and trying to understand everything so your Testimony relies heavily on what your parents believe. But as you get older it comes to a point where you need to start deciding for yourself if you believe that the LDS Church is the true church of Jesus Christ and if you are to be part of it. There wasn't one big huge moment when I was told through the Spirit that the church is true, but it happened in small moments over time. I acted on faith and stayed true to the gospel and to its teachings. I have had many small moments that have built my testimony and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I have received many blessings and the greatest blessing has been that I was married and sealed to my husband for time and all eternity in the Temple of the Lord. We will be together forever and when we have children, they will also be sealed to us for time and all eternity. Believe in God our Heavenly Father and I believe in his son Jesus Christ. I know that Christ atoned for all my sins and that only because of him I can repent and return to my Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is another true testament of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and of his prophets, who testify of him. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that through the Lord's guidance he restored the gospel to us today. I know that the current prophet Thomas Monson loves and cares for all of God's children. This is my testimony and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my church ward. I have served in many callings my entire life. I have been a youth leader, I have taught in the adult Sunday school and have taught the little children as well. I have been a leader for the adult women and have been a visiting teacher. As a visiting teacher I would visit women in our ward that needed a friend, someone to talk to, and someone to watch over them. I will always enjoy visiting other members of my ward and help those in need. My favorite calling has been to teach the young children in primary. I have my own class of children that I teach to and I love them. They are eager to learn and to participate in the lessons. I am always amazed to find out how much they already know about the church, about prophets, and about Jesus Christ.
