Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I love cycling, Star Wars, photography and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I love cycling, Star Wars, photography and my family. I'm a Mormon. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a family that taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Having the knowledge that I am a son of God and understanding my true potential has helped me have joy and hope in this life. I have lots of hobbies I enjoy. My relationship with God always comes first. I love doing things that push me and make me stronger because this life is all about progression. This is one of the reasons I love cycling so much. I had the chance to do a century (100 mile ride) the summer of 2014. Prayer played a large role in both setting that goal and executing it. The night before the century I was feeling sick. My parents and I had already drove to San Diego and I feared that I might not be able to achieve the goal I had worked so hard for. I asked my father to give me a Priesthood Blessing. In the blessing he told me I would make a full recovery and be able to participate in the morning for the ride. Surely enough the next morning I arose feeling fantastic and was able to finish the ride! I even got lost and added a 12 extra miles! This experience is one of many that strengthened my testimony that the same Priesthood Power Christ used to perform his miracles has been restored to the Earth. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's Church. I know Christ is our Savior. I encourage all to pray to know this for themselves.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this is really Jesus Christ's church. There are tons of benefits to being a Mormon but when it comes down to it, I'm a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

By understanding that we are here to "prepare to meet God" (Alma 34:32). Knowing that helps me remember what is really the priority in this life and helps me filter out things that aren't promoting that purpose.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jake
Set aside all preconceived notions that Mormons worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith is a prophet of god just like Moses, Noah, and and many other Prophets found in the Bible. Show more Show less
