Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a singer. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the south in a big family who loved the arts and culture. I quickly found myself drawn to music and especially the performing arts. I went on to study classical singing college as well as Europe and continue to study and teach it today. I love music, art, traveling, food, good books and movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I love living the gospel taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or Mormons because it teaches me how to find true and lasting happiness and peace. Since I was small I have always felt a distinct and undeniable feeling of peace and joy as I have tried to live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that this feeling of happiness and peace is a confirmation from a loving Heavenly Father that what I am doing is right. I have received this same feeling of confirmation when reading the Book of Mormon and I know that it is a book from God. As I have continued to live according to Jesus Christ's restored gospel, I have found a firm anchor of truth, direction, hope and a greater understanding of my purpose in life.

How I live my faith

I currently teach a Sunday School class about church doctrine. We study from the scriptures and from the words of modern prophets and apostles. I also have the opportunity to direct the choir for our congregation in singing hymns and other inspiring music. One of my favorite opportunities as a member of the church is to visit other women in my congregation each month to make sure they are well and taken care of. Its a fantastic opportunity to develop new friendships and to put my faith into action by serving.
