Hi I'm Eliza

I graduated with a degree in Family Life Studies. Being a mother of 2 is not like it is by the book. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Utah. I love music and play the cello and the piano. My husband and I met in an orchestra in which we were both playing the cello. We didn't go on a date until a year later. We married, and moved so my husband could attend graduate school. Moving was a big deal for me. I had never moved before getting married, and adjusting was hard. Close to graduating with my degree, I was diagnosed with depression. Music, being outdoors, my family and the Gospel is what has pulled me through. We moved about a year and a half ago, this time to Florida for my husband's job as a college professor. I am a mother of two now, ages 2 and under. Being a mother is not like they describe it in books. It is hard some days. My little daughters and I love to go for walks, enjoy music together, play and go for adventures around town, and love it when daddy comes home. I am excited to continue to grow in Florida, and not just live, but thrive as I learn right along side of my two girls.

Why I am a Mormon

I never had a "lightning strike" moment of conversion in the Gospel. My conversion happened bit by bit throughout my life. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the peace that it brings to my life. Especially with our latest move, the Lord has very plainly guided our path as we continue to seek him. He has not left us alone.

How I live my faith

I love visiting with other families, and letting my daughters socialize with their children. I love supporting my husband in his work, especially with the youth. Most of all, I love teaching and learning with my daughters how to better live by faith in the Lord. I do this by teaching them to sing songs and pray to the Lord whenever they would like to. Whenever I see their faces light up, I know that they feel the joy in life that the Lord intended all of of us to feel. I am then reminded to take the time I need to come closer to my Father in Heaven as well.
