Hi I'm Emilee Thomas

I live in Utah, am studying to be a manga artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work at Hobby Lobby as a custom framer, and love every second of it! God has blessed me with the best coworkers I could ever ask for who feel much more like family and strengthen me daily. Some other random facts about me are that I love art (especially drawing), reading, writing, listening to music, and watching Marvel movies and anime/reading manga (Japanese cartoons and comic books). Occasionally, I play video games like Kingdom Hearts, Just Dance, and Smash Bros. So much fun! Right now I live with my grandma LaRae and help take her grocery shopping and to appointments, and soon will be leaving on a mission - May 17, 2017. She's one of my biggest cheerleaders when it comes to my mission, and I love her so much. I've struggled a lot with Anxiety and Depression since I can remember, but with the help of wonderful, dedicated counselors and doctors, I can now proudly say that I don't let my mental illnesses stop me from doing what I love and living life to the fullest! With God, anything is possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's true and living church on the Earth today, and it brings so much joy, peace, and direction to my life. I have read the Book of Mormon, studied, and prayed about it, asking God if the book is true, and He has answered me, that yes, it is true. I have a strong testimony and read these sacred scriptures daily, along with the Bible and Pearl of Great Price, and have found so many answers to questions, as well as comfort and knowledge. If you have read this book and are wondering if it is true, ask, He will answer. I know that God loves each of us and continues to work miracles today, that He is alive and making us and our lives much greater than we could imagine. He hears your prayers. He loves you. He is mindful of what you are going through and will not abandon or forsaken you. He has given us commandments, scriptures, prophets, leaders, friends, family, and so much more, to help us along on our journey through this life. Reach out. Birth was not our beginning, and death is not the end. You are a child of God. Your life has a purpose, and you are beautifully unique, irreplaceable, and wonderful. I know these things to be true, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday, as well as weekly activities such as Family Home Evening on Mondays, and Institute on Wednesday nights when I don't have to work. I've also learned over the years that it's okay to talk about church to those around me, and I often end up having wonderful, uplifting conversations with coworkers, family, and friends. As I've prepared to leave on a mission, I was amazed at the outpouring of love, excitement, enthusiasm, and acceptance I received from those around me when I told them, and it's taught me so much about true friendship and that those who truly care about you will be there to support you, no matter your difference in religion, nationality, and/or opinion. God puts amazing people into our lives, and knows us far better than we know ourselves.

Are Mormons Christians?

Emilee Thomas
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, despite what some might believe, does not worship Joseph Smith or Mormon; we honor them as men called of God, but know by whom we have been saved, and worship our Savior, Jesus Christ, and God the Father. We are Christians. Show more Show less
