Hi I'm Nathan Thorne

I love playing piano, sax, and using technology. Currently serving a mission in Scottsdale Arizona! I'M A MORMON!!!

About Me

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah but raised most of my life in Kearney,Missouri! I love researching and seeing what new technology is coming out and figuring out how it all works. Especially Apple! I play the piano almost everyday because I enjoy the sound and it is sort of a time for me to tune out the world and just think. I also play sax and sing all the time just for fun! Being able to spend time with my family is very important to me and has been a big part of my life. I love all my friends and they bring me all sorts of joy and laughter! I can't wait for the future and to see what I can do with my life. Wish me luck!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon, but that doesn't mean thats why I am still a Mormon today. Around the age of 14 I had some doubts and really wanted to know if this was for me. I started questioning things about life and where did we come from and where are we going. Even though I had already learned so much I needed to find out for myself if this was true. I started talking to friends and asking others about their religions while trying to compare theirs to mine. After seriously considering the things I had learned I knew there was only one way to know. I decided to read and ponder the things I had come to know. I knelt down in prayer and was overcome with the most comforting feeling of the spirt that is indescribable. Everything just seemed to make sense and worked together so perfectly. I know that this world could not have been created without him and there is a great purpose to life. Every question I had could be answered in church and I knew for myself that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is something that I am very proud of. I enjoy being able to pray and ask for help when ever I need it. My relationship with my God has become closer as I have grown older. As I'm about to leave for my mission I have been praying and reading more than I have ever before. I know for a surety that this is true and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I also know the Bible is true. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is a true a living prophet of the earth today who leads and guides us in the right direction. I know that Joseph Smith was a living prophet and was chosen to restore the Christ's church back on to the earth today. I'm so thankful for my family and for them helping me live in the right direction. I know that following the commandments and words of the prophets will also lead me to a life full of happiness and excitement knowing that I am doing the right thing!

How I live my faith

I love being a mormon!! Up until recently because I'm headed on my mission I attended all kinds of church events. Every wednesday I attended youth group where I made close friends while learning about Christ and his church as well as being a part of scouts and getting ready for life's challenges. Attending church every sunday and keeping the Sabbath day holy is something that will always be a part of my life and keeps me on the right path! I try to read the Bible or Book of Mormon at least once a day while studying and praying about what I have read. Having my family as members also helps me live my faith to the fullest by having family home evening which consists of reading the scriptures, family prayer, and of course games and dessert!! In my life I try to set an example to my friends, while it might not always be perfect I try to be the best I can be. Today I am the Webmaster for our ward. This consists of updating the ward blog and posting announcements. There are so many more opportunities to serve in our church and I can't wait to be apart of them!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Nathan Thorne
If you believe in God all you have to do is ask, but ask in faith. I mean just ask, why not give it a try! Sincerely pray to your Heavenly Father and ask is what your learning true. Study and think about what you have and are learning. Listen with an open heart and feel inspiration from the Holy Ghost. Follow God's commandments so you can feel this influence. I promise that this will bring so much joy to your life. Show more Show less
