Hi I'm Jessica Van Zalinge

I live in Texas. I am to married my love, the missionary I waited two years for. I am a photographer and a blogger. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student taking online classes through BYU-Idaho. I have a full time job and I am saving up for a car and the future. I am waiting for a missionary and I write to him every week. I play the piano, paint, draw, sew, crochet, take photos of nature, cook, and I've tried my hand at the guitar, trumpet, harmonica, and recorder. I've read many, many books and I have a full library of my own. I am also a very good babysitter because I love kids so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. At an early age, I was worried about whether I just believed in the church because everyone around me did, but I soon realized that I wasn't borrowing someone else's light of understanding. I know this church to be true. It has been a great blessing in my life. I have been able to see how being modest, refraining from coffee, tea, alcohol, and drugs, and not using crude language has affected my life for good. I feel so good when I keep the commandments and do what is right. Those around me see how happy I am because I have no guilt connected with my actions and they desire to know what I know. Everyone deserves to be happy, truly happy with no strings attached. I believe this church to be the one and only true church on the earth. I am so grateful to have a beloved prophet on the earth today who cares for members and nonmembers alike all across the earth. He receives inspiration from our Heavenly Father, who cares about each of us more than we can imagine, to lead and guide us to do what is right. I know that all of this is true and I bear my witness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am very involved in the Young Single Adult Branch that I attend. I am the activities co-chair and I've organized up to 3 activities in one month before. I also play the piano for the branch choir and I help out wherever else I am needed. Oh, one more thing. I LOVE to give talks during our sacrament meeting services.
