Hi I'm Allison Patrick

I play the trumpet, and I love horse back riding. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a love of the outdoors and music. I play the trumpet and the piano and I love to sing. One of my favorite things to do is go fishing with my dad. He taught me to have a love of God and to serve others. My mom and I love to travel together and she blessed me so much by teaching me Japanese, her native language. I went to college for a year at Auburn studying the trumpet and veterinary sciences. I had a blast learning from great teachers and making a lot of new friends. Right now I am a missionary serving in the Japan Nagoya Mission. It is so much fun and I love it so much! After my mission I will go back to college and we will see where life takes me from there!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I chose to be. I felt what it was like to be separated from God and through the teachings of this church I was able to gain a relationship with Him and I feel so much more peace and happiness in my life. Growing up I also had a lot of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of death, fear of moving forward. But something this church has taught me is how to have faith. How to love God and trust in Him enough to be able to move forward even when the future seems uncertain. My favorite scripture is 1 John 4:18 "there is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" I know that by loving God and by growing closer to Him we gain wisdom and faith enough to overcome our fears.

How I live my faith

I try to live by the standard "what would Jesus do?" I want to be an example of Christ so other people can feel His love. I know I am not perfect but it's the effort that counts. Right now I am living my faith by sharing the message of Christ with the people here in Japan.
