Hi I'm Dennis Pratt

I am from Edmonton Canada and I speak Albanian. I am a woodworker, a teacher, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a construction teacher and general handyman. I enjoy woodworking, learning and growing. I like to travel and see the amazing places the world has to offer and hope to see as much as I can throughout my lifetime. I enjoy being a husband and father and being a leader at work and in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

While attending university I enrolled in a religion course about the Book of Mormon. I read the first half of the book during that semester but was disappointed when I could not organize my schedule to take the course that covered the second half of the book. I began reading it on my own a felt the great power of the book. I read and read and read, until I finished the entire book. When I finished reading the book I took Moroni's promise and prayed to know if the book was true. I received an answer to that prayer through the Holy Ghost as something I felt deep in my soul, not just in my mind. From that point on I knew that I was converted and would follow Jesus Christ as a Latter Day Saint. I have been blessed for that decision every day since.

How I live my faith

I have had the privilege of serving as the bishop pf our ward for a few years now. I have been able to get to know the many members of the ward, not just their names and faces, but also their struggles and trials. It has been a great blessing to me to watch individuals and families work through these trials with faith in the Lord and be blessed for it. My calling also gives me the opportunity to serve in the Scouting program which teaches our young men to be great future fathers, teachers and leaders.
