Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. I repeated this several times and accumulated a testimony.

How I live my faith

I pray and read scripture each day then apply the things that I learned to my life.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dallin Todd Mulliner
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important bit of knowledge anyone in this life can receive. It means because Christ suffered in Gethsemane and was Crucified for us, that He knows us, our lives, and our situations perfectly. He understands our happiness, our sins, our sorrows, and every aspect of our life. Many people have questions about where we came from, why we are on Earth, and where we are going after this life. If you study all of Christ's Earth life, death, and resurrection you will become overwhelmed with how much He gave everyone, personally. Christ broke the Physical bands of Death that not a single individual could have done for themselves. He also provided a perfect example, called the Gospel of Christ, which allows everyone who has ever lived, to break the bands of Spiritual Death. These two noncomprehending "graces" make up the Atonement. Both "graces" where paid in full by Christ Himself and the payment was fulfilled -Eternally- by the time of His resurrection. Everyone who has ever lived must utilize Jesus Christ's Atonement by living His Gospel. This shows appreciation for the most important and difficult thing anyone could endure, it will bring peace to our lives and families on Earth, and will allow us to change and become comfortable in God's presence again. In short, every single human worships and lives this Doctrine, even the people who don't recognize they are doing it. The more we use the Atonement... the more we become like Him. Show more Show less
