Hi I'm Doug

I'm a husband, a father, and I'm a Ph.D. student studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a husband of 4 years and a father of a toddler. I study gene regulation in Drosophila melanogaster. I am excited by the challenge of Biochemistry and Molecular. I love the outdoors and the encompassing beauty in Pennsylvania. I love the wildlife in the area (I'm especially fond of hawks). I enjoy collecting and listening to various genres of music, I especially love discovering music from the late 60s and 70s. I especially love the opportunity to be a father and a husband. The best part of any day is returning home to a great family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe Christ's church was restored on this earth by a true and living prophet and that we have prophets today guiding us, providing insights and revelation that will enhance our happiness in this life. I am a Mormon because the teachings of Christ provide me with a sure foundation in life that has and will continue to bless my life. I am a Mormon because of the peace I feel when I follow the Savior's example.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in the central region of Pennsylvania. About every other month I, along with some other fellow church members, organize activities for about 100 youth from the area to participate in. I love the opportunity to interact with the youth in the area. It is incredible to see the strength of the youth strong, to see them making great choices in life, and most importantly to see them following the Savior's example. I also have the opportunity to visit some of the members that attend church in our area. This opportunity allows me to get to develop relationships and friendships with some great people.
