Hi I'm Kim Torres Rubalcava

I was born in Mexico City, I attended our church schools since first grade until I was 17, when I moved to USA, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mexico City, and I went to our church (LDS, SUD) schools since my first grade, In 1977 I moved to Utah to go to school, I then went on LDS mission to Tempe/Phoenix Arizona and met my wife. I went to school to be and accountant, and now I sale insurance. I enjoy traveling, playing tennis, racquetball and hiking. I am married and have two beautiful daughters, at the moment (2016) I have 4 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

My choice to me a member of the LDS/USD church began when I was born, as my parents were already members and with their diligence and example I developed the desire to be part of this great and true church. But truly, my conversion was affected years before my mother was born. My maternal grandfather chose to not be part of the Catholic church or any religion, in the early 1920's he was introduced to the Mormon church, but did not join at the time, even thou he named one of his son Nefi, and name from the Book of Mormon. He raised his family believing in Christ and reading the bible, my mother at the age of 21 was introduced to the church and short of a miracle she was baptized, why a miracle? she was engaged to be married and to be baptized in the Catholic church, in fact was in the process of taken the lesson to be baptized to be able to be married in the Catholic church, she broke the engagement, was baptized and shortly after went on a mission to Mexico City, where she met my Father. Her testimony, dedication and service, was and is an inspiration to me and my siblings, what is remarkable to me, is that all of my mothers siblings (12 of them), joined the church, most of them as adults, this happen in the late 1950 and early 1960, and therefore, all of my my family, including all of my cousin, (about 100 of them) grew in the church and with the same morals and principals. Therefore when I was 18, I have the desire to know for myself if the things that I have been taught were true, thru reading the Book of Mormon and praying I received my answer and testimony when I was 19. Since then I have try to live the gospel and be an example to my family, not always due to my flaws, that I have reflected my beliefs, nevertheless, I have a complete and strong testimony that this church is the true church as it was establish by Jesus Christ when he was on the earth. I am grateful for this testimony, it has helped me in times of difficult trials.

How I live my faith

Since I have been a member of our LDS/SUD church, and the example of my parents, service is a big part of my life, since I returned from my mission and got married I have enjoyed serving on any capacity that the Lord has fit to allowed me to.
