Hi I'm Caleb

I live in the desert heat of Arizona. I love legos, piano, Star Wars, airsoft, and food. And guess what? I am a Mormon

About Me

Well, I'm a 19 year old youngin', and to be honest, I'm just a guy. I like going on fun dates, building things, going shooting, action movies, eating everything in my Mom's cabinets, you know. Guy stuff. I have one sister, and I live with both my parents who are awesome. I'm at an interesting point in my life it feels; starting to make some of the big important decisions that will affect all my life. Whew! Kind of scary. But I've got great friends of my faith who are there and support me. Now more than ever, as I'm out on a mission for the Lord serving in the Colorado Denver North mission. I mentioned airsoft and piano in my introduction. Those are basically the two things I enjoy most. I've been playing piano for nearly 16 years! And have grown from being forced to practice to enjoying it. I'm not a professional by any means, but I'd like to think I'm pretty good. Airsoft is my sport. You may or may not have heard of it, but a simple explanation is that it's a simulation sport involving replica-firearms, tactics/strategy, and lots of teamwork. For me, it's great fun! I guess I should mention food too... I love to eat. Anything and everything! Except carrots. But I love trying new things, and have eaten many foods a lot of people wouldn't dare try. Escargot, and perhaps alligator most notably.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. I love the way Mormons live. I love the power and peace that living the principles of His Gospel brings. For me, practically everything revolves around my testimony and desire to live the things I've been taught over my last 19 years. Living the Gospel isn't always easy for me, and I am by no means perfect. But continuing to learn from my mistakes, repent, and be better really shows me that everything I've been taught really is the truth. My days feel better when I live up to the standards the Lord has set for His children. I am a Mormon because I know it's true.

How I live my faith

I share it. At the moment, I'm in the town of Commerce City. It's an exciting thing for me because I absolutely love my religion. A great turning point for me a long while back was a week spent at the Especially For Youth (EFY) church program. By the end of the week, I knew that I wanted to serve a mission so that I could let everyone I came across know of the peace and love the Gospel has brought into my life. Currently I am teaching and preaching the wonderful message of the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I've gained such a testimony that by living the things that God wants us to, we can be happy, and saved with Him forever. Which I must say, that's quite awesome. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had to serve in my church. It really is a sure foundation for me, and I'm basing my life off of it. Sometimes, living the gospel can be hard. But I can always look back to the things I was taught and I know what's right. The scripture 1 Corinthians 10:13 has great meaning to me, because I know that even the worst of temptations I can overcome. When we overcome temptation we can be certain are following God's path.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

It's there. There's no getting around it, sadly. But the best thing to do is think of Christ. Thinking of him will always push bad thoughts out of your head. And never keep it a secret. Talk to parents, and bishops, and get the problem resolved. Listen to theirs, and the prophet's council and take the Atonement of Christ to your heart and become clean. It's always a better choice to become clean, and you will always feel better. Show more Show less
