Hi I'm Sylvia

I'm a photographer. I went to Cosmetology School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town, spent most of my time playing volleyball for my high school team and hanging out with my friends. I picked up Art classes while a Junior and really enjoy being crafty and original. I went on to play volleyball for a local community college, but after realizing it was the path that wasn't right for me, I enrolled in Cosmetology School back in my hometown. After being unable to finish school, I wanted to try a new adventure and became a Nanny in the city. I was a Nanny for 4 years, and got to work with a few different wonderful families that I still love to be with on occasion when time permits. My favorite things to do with the kids were to go to the zoo, museums and swimming. I met, dated, and married my husband while being a Nanny and after discovering we were going to be parents, I decided it was time to move on and prepare to be a Mom. I now am a Stay at Home Mom taking care of our beautiful and sweet daughter while working very part time for a booming company that sells Essential Oils, and on the side I do a little bit of photography for fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with a family that struggled to attend church with everyone each sunday. As a teenager, it became harder to follow the church standards and I became inactive for a time. After getting married, I began to attend church but still struggled to break old habits of not keeping the sabbath day holy, and I wouldn't read my scriptures or say very many prayers. After having our daughter, I realized the importance of having the church in my life and raising my family to know the truth and being a good example. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church, I believe that my Heavenly Father loves me, and watches over me daily. I know that through Joseph Smith the church was fully restored and we are now able to live in a society where religion is accepted and I get to practice what I believe. I'm so thankful for repentance and the love that Heavenly Father has for His children. I believe that my family can and will be together for eternity, and I'm thankful for all the blessings I recieve daily when I live according to the will of Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ. Without the church, I wouldn't know where to turn and I wouldn't be the person I am today.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every sunday, and have been going to one particular class that teaches the basics of the church. I grew up and was raised "Mormon," however, I had a hard time learning about the church, so I like to refresh my memory by attending the "Gospel Principles" sunday school class. I have a calling in the church where I check to see what women in our ward boundaries have been visited with. In those visits, we have a short lesson and make sure that everyone in the family is doing okay or if they need any help. If they need help, it will be reported to someone in the church and we make sure their needs are taken care of. I visit with women as well, and I really enjoy getting to know those that I attend church with and maintaining a happy relationship with them.
