Hi I'm Mikayla

Born and raised in Alaska, USA, I am proud to admit that I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am just a typical human being. I am a full time college student so most of my time is devoted to schoolwork, but also enjoy spending time playing frisbee and volleyball, along with nearly any other sport that's out there. I love camping, hiking, biking, and anything to do with the outdoors, so Alaska seems to be a perfect fit for me. My favorite pass-time is just spending time with friends, usually at a park or church activity. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission for my God's church in just a couple of months, and I can't wait to spend a year and a half sharing the word of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I was originally baptized because I am the youngest member of my family, and with my entire family in the church, I knew it was expected that I join, as well. I was eight years old when I was baptized, but that doesn't mean that I didn't believe it. Growing up around the church, and attending every Sunday, I had felt the influence of my Heavenly Father often, even though I was young, and knew choosing to join the church was the right choice to make. I am so glad that I made that decision while I was young, because it has simplified much of my life. I know that this is the true gospel, so many decisions that may seem hard for others are much easier for me to make, simply because I know that I want to follow the example of Christ, and not only be my best self, but help everyone else to, as well. No one has ever been worse off due to an act of Charity, either by themselves to someone, or by another to them.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church, by simply attending church every Sunday, and doing my best to follow the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do my best to not only go to church, but to live my religion every second of my life. I want to be a better person all the time. In high school, I attended early-morning Seminary (Scripture/Bible study) classes every morning before school, and I still attend every church function that I possibly can. I also do all that I can to help plan wholesome activities for the young adults in my area, so that they can come to fun activities and have a positive atmosphere.
