Hi I'm Karen B

I am native to Colorado, served in the Canada Edmonton Mission, I love music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family, music, and the gospel. I attended BYU-Hawaii in 2012 as a Vocal Performance Major. Fall of 2015 I will be returning to school at UVU. Some other things about me: I love to play soccer, I get addicted to puzzles, I love riddles, and my favorite color is rainbow. Music brings me joy and is my way of sharing my testimony of the gospel with others. I have played bassoon (yes the long, double-reed woodwind instrument) for about 10 years. I played trumpet during High School in our Jazz Band, one of my favorite genres. I am also learning piano. My favorite way to introduce myself is to say, "Hi, I'm Karen, 'karen' about everyone!"

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a Mom and a Dad who were married in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple and sealed for time and all eternity. They have raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so living as a Mormon has always been a part of my life. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore Christ's Gospel in these latter days. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith did translate it by the power of God. I have come to gain a testimony of my own of the truthfulness of this gospel throught the Spirit of the Lord, Jesus Christ (Alma 5:45-46). I know it is being lead by a living Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, under the direction of the Lord. I am Mormon because I know that this church teaches the true gospel of Jesus Christ and provides the path to Eternal Salvation.

How I live my faith

"If it's right, then I tell myself to do it. If it's wrong, I tell myself not to do it." I have always striven to do what is right and follow the Spirit. Yes it is hard to always do what is right, and yes I've made mistakes, but through the Atonement, prayer, and repentance, I always get back onto the right path. I have six sisters and I am working toward consistently expressing my love to them and sharing my testimony with them. I try my best to be uplifting and not use degrading comments. Having a clean mind is essential to feeling the Spirit and knowing right from wrong. I am so grateful for the strength I receive from my Savior. December 2012 I received a call to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Edmonton Mission. I am now home and preparing to go back to school. I was so blessed that I had the opportunity to share the joyful message of Christ and His gospel every day for 18 months. Mostly, I do my best every day to be a Disciple of Christ. "He is my Master and He has chosen me to represent Him."
